Sport Shepherd helps you discover women’s sports, follow the teams and players you care about, and find something worth watching. This page explains how information supports those features.
Your account
When you create an account, we use account information such as your email address, account ID, and any name you provide to support sign-in and your account. Your account ID also connects your saved preferences and activity to your account.
Your follows and history
We store your follows and activity history to keep your lineup available and make discovery more relevant. That can include the teams, players, leagues, or sports you follow, as well as the items you view or select.
When you follow something, we may also record where that follow came from—for example, onboarding, a search result, or a team page. This source context helps us understand which parts of the experience help people find their interests.
Browsing and analytics
We use PostHog for product analytics: understanding which pages people browse, which features they use, and which entities or search results they select. Entity selections can include a team, player, league, or event. We use this activity to understand discovery patterns and improve the site.
Our analytics track search-result selections, not the search text you type. Your typed query is used to find results; it is not sent to PostHog as search analytics.
PostHog can assign an anonymous identifier before you sign in. When you sign in, we may link that anonymous activity to your account using your account ID only. We do not send your email address or name to PostHog.
Cookies and local storage
The site and its sign-in and analytics tools use cookies or browser storage to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and recognise a browser across visits. Some information may remain in local storage until it is cleared.
You can manage cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out, reset preferences, or affect site features. Clearing browser storage does not delete information already stored with your account or previously collected analytics.
Insights shared with partners
We may share aggregated, non-identifying insights with partners—for example, patterns in interest in a sport or league. These are summaries about groups of people, not individual account details, names, or email addresses.
Questions or deletion requests
To ask about your information or request deletion of your account and associated data, email contact@sportshepherd.com. Include the email address associated with your account so we can locate it. We may need to confirm that the account is yours before acting on a request.
